All Tiny Locs was born from one woman’s vision to create beauty that doesn’t harm the planet or our sense of identity.

Our founder, Sandra, began her journey as a young woman navigating the cultural and emotional complexity many African girls face with their natural hair. Growing up, her hair was often cut short by school rules and family expectations. Like many, she longed for the day she could grow it and style it beautifully, only to discover that the process was often painful, time-consuming, and unsustainable. The tipping point came when she realized just how much waste particularly synthetic hair extensions waste is produced by popular African hairstyles.

While studying Global Challenges, Sandra learned about the environmental impacts of synthetic hair: plastic-based, non-biodegradable, and burned or dumped in harmful ways after use. That realization sparked a mission — to offer an eco-conscious, safe for health, long-lasting, and natural solution for African women.

Armed with a crochet hook, her passion for hair, and deep care for the planet, Sandra began installing microlocks — tiny, natural locks that require no synthetic hair and little maintenance. What started as home visits with a handful of clients has now grown into a thriving hair salon and community hub.

But All Tiny Locs is more than a salon.
It’s a movement — inspiring African women to embrace their natural beauty, save time and stress while preserving the environment. We help women style their hair in a healthy way for their scalp, painless, and beautiful.
We are a business with heart built without outside funding, rooted in word-of-mouth trust, and grounded in customer care.
We are a standard setter, raising the bar for professionalism in hair care with clear policies, respectful time management, and empowering service.

Today, All Tiny Locs offers personalised microlock installations, maintenance, and styling. We make each customer’s journey unique and special. We also serve as a training ground for future locticians. We’re proud to create jobs, build community, and offer African women a beautiful, low-waste alternative to synthetic hair. We’ve even sourced our own eco-friendly human hair for clients who need it, aligned with our mission every step of the way.
